Ok looks similar to mine but could never find a photo of a VFC mag to compare.

Made this back in 2010 looks like they have done the same as me with the M14 mag.

I cut my real BAR mag down by about 12mm so it would be the same size once in the gun as with the real one.
Mine is about 450 BB capacity though.

Just wondering do vfc BAR mags fit in this version?

Only guessing atm but i believe yes is the answer. Will confirm at the Gothic Line as I know we have at least 1 VFC BAR coming :good:

Looks really good mate, I will have a tinker with the BAR later on as i am still scratching my head as why the made the mags "sunken" and had such a long tube on the hop unit. I presume the gearbox must get in the way. But I am looking to maybe covert some to midcaps and use M14 on M4 veitnam style mags to do this. Roll on october! :good:

About how often would the internal feeding mechanism move around causing the gun to not shoot properly, because that is a scary thought seeing that spending that much money on a gun whos magazine doesnt feed properly.

The mag will be fine once stripped and cleaned, its on my to do list. Will probs just need a minor fix like adding some material to hold it in place and not allow it to move. But once it has been fixed it will be fine. Kind of what you expect from a £15 mag based on the VFC £45 one

Have my camera back and will upload pictures and add more to the review.

Will also tidy up thread.

List of upgrades coming from Fire Support.

1 X Systema New Boreup Cylinder Set for M16A1 / VN
1 X Madbull Ultimate 6.01mm Tight Bore Barrel 7075 Aluminium (650mm)
1 X Classic Army 7mm bearings for gearboxes
1 X Systema Energy POLYCARBONATE PISTON (Black)
1 X Systema Energy Spring Guide with bearing v2 gearbox
1 X Pro-Win AK Hop-Up Chamber

Basically whole new top end. For those with keane eyesight you would notice the Bore up set. This is because when I took the original barrel out there was sooooo much room for a bigger barrel. So in goes one of the biggest AEG barrels you can get! I am hoping that with this I will not get the suck back effect / loss of FPS. Which leaes the bearing spring guide (to help reduce stress) and classic army bearing which I am sure will be an improvement over the china ones. This is also a "safety" as i dont want the gearbox holes to elongate as replacing the gearbox case will be a right arse!

Didn't get a chance to start the upgrades on the BAR today but now can upload the photo's i took of breaking it down.

Removing body pin.

Removing of the pin will take the upper and lower reciever apart leaving it looking like this..

.and from the other side.

Then we went to the butt plate and removed the two screws which give you access to your battery. The screws were too long and cut down by Mr China man to fit!

And the glue holding the screw fittings into place... can't get enough glue!

Removing the top 2 screws by the motor cage will allow you to completely remove the stock. Leaving you with this.

Removing the screw near the far right bearing and the one nearest the left bearing will allow the trigger grp to be taken away. One of my screws here was also damaged although easily replaced. You can unplug the motor cables too.

Bottom of gearbox case would not fit into gun, so Mr China man remove material!

Removal of the last screw on the motor cage will allow it to come free.

Pushing in the back of the gearbox case where the spring guide goes will allow you to press the release button on the top of the gearbox. You can see me measuring up a prometheus spring guide with the original spring guide in the back ground. (it fits btw :good: )

Now removing the last few screws will allow acces to the gearbox, removing the spring is so nice as the gearbox isnt under tension when done.

When all parts are removed you can see Mr China man has been at it with the file just to get the gearbox to fit. (Anything which is silver has been touched by Mr China's man file)

Any questions, ask away! :good:

Looks like a modified ver7. I suggest you round off the front corners of the cylinder cutout on the greabox if they aren't yet. It's a good thing you got a bore up cylinder (hopefully type-0) for your barrel length. I'm surprised it came with a type 1 cylinder (for m4 length barrels) stock.

Yes i got a non ported cylinder for this setup, well as it uses all version 2 parts except the hop which is a version 3 (Ak hop) they probably just got lots of china M4 parts from some where cheap. The bearing though I have brought are not a good fit, so have gone back to the ones which have come with the gun.

I didn't have a version 6 tappet plate to check it against as the only two i have are in guns! If i find a spare before Tuesday il let you know or I could just take down some measurements and post on here for people to compare.

wouldn't compare with this one its a pos early king arms one and makes guns miss feed, its why i have it unfitted as its too long but there are some things that are universal and they are the position of the sector gear in relation to the cylinder,it has to be the same in all gearboxes that run v2 gears and from that the length of the tappet plate must be the same in order to work, the only variable in this case is the position of the spring.

Just seen that, very poor. Less than impressed with Airsoft World and their pre-orders and customer service. Or lack of.
I've called 4 times so far today and just get the same answer machine message. No-one home.

Thats a shame to hear lads, glad i stumped up the extra cash now to grab one.

Only annoying thing is I hope they dont push it back anymore. As I want to give it its first run out at the Gothic line. And i don't want to buy any VFC mags as they are 3 times the price. As i know a few places which have them in stock

Keep us updated with airsoft world normally there customer service is good.

My order with Airsoft World has been cancelled, i got through on the phone this morning.
They were understanding and not concerned as they are sure they can sell it.

I have ordered a pro win to fit in mine. It might need slight modification to fit. Have been busy lately but hopefully will fit all my parts this coming week.

Cheapest place i found one was Ehobby asia and it came to £16 inc P&P!

My mate has a eltronic measuring device and will measure the inner diamters of the holes to see what the hell is going on. The inner barrel doesn't have any stabilisers but fits in very snug. A spare prometheous barrel I had laying around I almost had to tap in to get it to fit, so no worries there. :good:
